This is the advanced trainer of World War II; the final test of a budding fighter pilot's skill and ability. The closed cockpit AT-6 Texan was a pilot's last step before taking the controls of a fighter. Built in the thousands during the war, the AT-6 continued to serve for decades afterwards and even served as a front line combat aircraft during the Korean War.
